Teacher’s Training
Gwen Cox graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Art’s BFA Scenic Painting program in 2013 and has painted for LORT theatres up and down the east coast since 2010. Credits include Riverside Theatre in Florida, Triad Stage in North Carolina, and five years as Charge Artist for Maine State Music Theatre’s educational fellowship program. Working in fast-paced environments while training apprentices has informed her philosophy of focusing on a strong foundation in drawing and painting fundamentals while always remaining adaptable and continuing to learn. Gwen has enjoyed painting productions that ranged from large scale musicals with multiple backdrops to immersive sets in black box spaces, as well as occasionally freelancing in illustration and set design. Since 2016 she has been Charge Scenic Artist for the Fulton Theatre in Lancaster, PA.
