Overview

In order to make it easier for professional scenic artists to take advantage of Cobalt Studios’ facilities and training expertise, we have developed a format that can accommodate the busy working scenic artist’s schedule.

Advanced Independent Studies can take place ALMOST any time of the year. Scheduling is flexible and is based on both of our availabilities.

This is a program made to order for you. The process begins with Sign Up Form. You’ll discuss what subject you are interested in pursuing. Based on that discussion you and Rachel will establish a course of study tailored to your goals and needs which includes the appropriate amount of time needed to effectively cover the subject.

Many of the subjects that have been requested in Advanced Independent Studies are covered by the Specialty Pro Seminars given throughout the school year. These are in-depth seminars which thoroughly cover their subject through lectures, demonstrations and student projects. You would do well to consider the topics covered in these seminar and compare them to your needs. If the seminars do not meet them or do not align with your schedule, an Advanced Independent Study might be right for you.

Details

There is a three-day minimum stay, with a maximum term up to two weeks. If you are interested in a longer time frame than 2 weeks, please explore our Month at Cobalt option.

The fee is an all-inclusive $165 per day. Cobalt Studios will provide you with a private furnished room, access to all house amenities, all weekday meals, and use of studio materials and tools. For helpful information when planning your trip to Cobalt, please visit our Contact & Directions page.

You will receive a deposit link and invoice once the number of days of your Independent Study has been determined. Tuition payment can be made in advance or on your arrival. We accept all major credit cards.
